To put it simply, a product is determined to be a momentum leader through a scoring system that uses an algorithm dependent on factors such as social, web, employee, and review data. There are three main methodologies that are followed to determine the products in the momentum grid. This includes- satisfaction methodology (affected by factors such as popularity, quality of reviews, age of reviews, etc.), momentum methodology (factors in Year-over-year change, Employee growth, review growth, etc.)& categorization methodology.
So, what is the purpose of such a division?
Basically, it allows buyers to identify the best among the best. It makes comparison really easy in each category as buyers gain insight into the trending products based on momentum and satisfaction scores.
The criteria to be deemed a momentum leader include having received a minimum of 10 reviews and having at least one year of G2 data. New reports are produced as ratings and scores change, providing an opportunity for improvement and keeping everyone on their toes!

A product’s relationship with its users is assessed using the relationship index methodology that utilizes an algorithm to provide a relationship score. To arrive at the score, factors such as – a customer’s reported ease of doing business with the seller, satisfaction with the product’s quality, and likelihood of recommendation,(all based on G2 reviews), are taken into consideration.
